  1. There is only one tailor in this district now. He works at his own home and does not travel from house to house as formerly. This tailor does not stock cloth. Cloth is not spun or woven locally.
    The implements used by the tailor are – A shears – a large scissors
    The goose – a heavy iron for pressing.
    The thimble – to protect the finger against the needle. It has no bottom.
    The needle.
    The lapboard – a board he puts on his knee on which to press suits.
    Sewing machine worked by the feet.
    A tape for taking your measure.
    A yard ruler for cutting out.
    Chalk for marking.
    Shirts are made in a few homes. The material used is flannelette.
    Stockings and socks are knitted in all the homes. The thread is not spun in the homes.
    There is only one spinning wheel in the district. It is still in use but the woman who uses it is not a native of this place.
