The people got up about four o' clock long ago...

The people got up about four o'clock long ago. They got their breakfast about nine, and they worked until then. They had potatoes, and salt, and thick milk for their breakfast. The worked again until they got their dinner about two o'clock. They had thick milk and potatoes then. They had their supper about nine, and they had the same thing again. They had no tea round this district until a ship came inland about seventy five years ago. When they had the tea made then they ate the leaves and threw away the water.
