  1. The local fairs are held in Rathduff, Mallow and Donoughmore. Buyers often transact business in the country, and come to he farmers' houses buying sheep, pigs, and cattle.
    A fair was held in Blarney and Fairhill but these are discontinued. There is a fairfield in Rathduff and one in Mallow. Toll is paid in Mallow. The toll is twopence on every beast sold.
    When a bargain is made they strike hands to show there agreement. When a a horse is sold the halter is given way with him.
