  1. Weather Portents
    In olden times people were able to foretell what kind of weather they would have in future by the movements of the animals, birds and insects.
    If the cat turns his back to the fire we will have bad weather.
    If the swine raise their heads into the arise will have rainy weather. If the dog runs into the kitchen we will have thunder and lightening, and if he is seen eating the grass we will have rain.
    If the frog’s colour is a dark yellow we will have rainy weather but if his colour is bright yellow we will have fine weather.
    If the sheep go together in one corner of the field we will have thunder and lightening.
    If the cows run together for shelter in the shade of the ditch we will have stormy weather.
