    remember old people in this parish talk of Fr. Kirby. I was then 9 or 10 years old.
    Rev M. Collins was appointed Co-adjutor Bishop with right of succession to the sees of Cloyne and Ross by the Pope in 1827;
    he succeeded Most Rev. Dr. Coppinger as Bishop in the dioceses in 1830, died in 1832, and was buried in Skibbereen. He lived on the Hill Castletownroche, in a house now in ruins, and almost opposite the gateway of Thomas Hunter's public-house.
    Rev John Kirby died in 1832, and was buried in Ahern, in the parish of Conna. He was a native of that parish.
