  1. This noted dancer came from Millstreet and his name was Ned Bennet. He taught in the farmer's houses round about the district and all the young people went to him to learn the Irish step dancing. This was of great amusement to them and so they learned very quickly.
    The steps he taught were the blackbird, hornpipes, jigs and reels.
    This man did no work and the dancing was his only livelihood.
