    When people wash their feet they make it their business to throw it out of doors. It was believed not to be right to keet the feet-water because it was thought not to be liked by the evil Spirits. Very little boots are made locally now, but all the repairs are done in the locality. At the present time my district is confined to only one shoemaker. In former times I know the district to have four shoemakers. The reason for the change is because of the machine made boot turned out in large numbers by factories and stocked for sale in numerous shops. Clogs were worn formerly, they were not made locally. Of
