    marriage of a young couple (who perhaps had never seen before) to the parents of each. As drink in those days was cheap the matchmakers would go home merry.
    The parents of each generally met at the girls home. Saturday and Monday were unlucky days for a marriage.
    The couple would also look forward to a fine morning. The wedding would take place in the girl's home. In these day six or eight young men would make up a funny dress. There were called straw boys
