  1. Severe Weather.
    On the 23rd. February 1898 there was a great snow storm. It started about three o,clock in the evening.
    It came from the East. For the first few hours it came mildly.
    The snow was so fine and dry that it was like dust. About seven o,clock the storm started and continued until ten o,clock next morning.
    It came with such force that the smallest keyhole had to be stuffed. In the morning the snow was gathered together in the shady places and there was
