  1. The landlord in this district long ago was Mr Townsend. He lived at Laharn. He was a very severe man on his tenants and if they had not the rent paid on the appointed day they would be evicted.
    In the year 1895 he evicted a one Mrs O'Connor who lived in Glounminane. She was out of her little house and farm for five years. Three years of this period she spent living in a house the property of Mr. Michael Murphy, Derrygowna. She spent the remaining two years in a hut which the kind neighbours built for her on the brow of Glounminane. From there she was able to look over her little farm and keep off tressespers. When the five years were out she settled with the landlord and got back her little farm.
