    There is no churn in my home.
    Long ago the farmer's wife did the churning. When strangers came in they were asked to do the churning for a time, because if they did not do it, the farmer's wife would know that they were working pishogues. The pishogues would have no effect on that house if the pishogue-man did some churning.
    When the butter is taken out it is washed and coloured with butter colouring and it is salted also.
