    The local fairs are held in the town of Kanturk, barony of Duhallow, County Cork.
    The fairs are not always held in the town, sometimes the buyers go to the farmers' houses to buy cattle, horses or sheep. This was done formerly, and is done even to the present day.
    Toll is also paid on cattle. On every young calf that is sold three pence is paid as toll. On every cow six pence is paid as toll.
    The twenty ninth of September is considered the largest fair
