    A chieftain of the name of Mac Auliffe lived in this district, Barony of Dunhallow, County Cork, during the time Cromwell was in Ireland. I heard a story about the chieftain and Cromwell.
    Cromwell knew that he could not kill Mac Auliffe, so he thought of a plan to to kill him. The plan was to send Mac Auliffe with a letter to Dublin.
