    Many years ago, an old man went to Cork delivering a load of butter. He let his mare and cart outside the shop of a woman. While the old man was away, a few boys came, and pinched the mare. The mare backed, and the shafts broke the window.
    The owner of the shop summoned the old man, and he was brought up in court. The magistrate happened to be the Mayor of Cork.
