    The only local poet I know of is Mr. James Curran of the Island, Newmarket. He is still alive and this is one of his poem[?]
    Reveries.
    Ah me, what gladsome
    memories dear
    Drift back to mind once
    more.
    Recalling of the many lines
    of "Herald Days" of yore.
    Sweet lines that whispered of
    the past
    And joys brought back again
    They bring a solace to my
    heart
