  1. Some of the local roads are known by the name of the Bridge-Hill and the World's End. the Sandy cove road and the Ferry-Road.
The Bridge Hill leads from the Western Bridge to Barrell's Cross. The World's End leads from Kinsale to the Western Bridge. The Sandy Cove leads from Sandy Cove to Ringrone, and the Ferry Road leads from Barrell's Cross to the Ferry.
The Old Road is the road passing our own house to Ringrone Cross. It is still used. There are no local accounts as to when the roads were made. The roads were made as relief work during the Famine Period.
The people who made the roads took them in contracts. There is one old path in the school district. It is quite near the school. It is through the townland of Ballymacaw.
