  1. Severe Weather.
    There was a great storm occured in February in the year 1902. It lasted about two days and did great damage to houses and woods.
    The big wind of 1839 did no damage in this district but did great damage in the midland counties.
    There was a great thunder storm in the year 1879 which did great damage, killing a number of cattle and sheep.
    There was a heavy snow fall in the year 1855. It lasted for three weeks and was about two hundred feet in some places. There was a certain valley in the district of Ballinadee and the height of the snow made it level with the hills. There were several lives lost and a great number of sheep and cattle died.
