  1. A soldier was being hanged in Macroom when he asked if there were any people from Dunmanway district present. He said there was money hidden in Aultagh Wood between a stream coming from the north and a rock. Every day the sun shines it shines on that spot.
    Many people searched for this hidden treasure but it has never been found.
