   And sunshine its rich glory sheds O'er hallowed ground.
   The clouds their fleecy robes unfold,
   And nature cloth'd with radiant gold
   Rejoices in her wealth unroll'd
   Though rarely found.

   Lo! where St. Edmund rears his shrine
   With graceful spire.
   How sweetly sung the chants divine
   By surpliced choir!
   How grave and recent appear
   The worshippers assembled here,
   The old and young from far and near
   With one desire!

   From Wisdom's store;
   Where studious tyros nobly strain
   For fame in lore.
   In front the grounds where oft they meet
   In sports athletic to compete
