  1. I have no farm, although I will be able to describe the potato crop as it is familiar with me to see people planting it.
    Potatoes are grown on every farm in this district, the farmers generally speaking grow from one to three acres of potatoes but the amount may vary according to the amount of land a farmer may have.
    When potatoes are going to be planted in lea ground the manure is first drawn and then spread, then it is ploughed into ridges or into drills. Wooden ploughs were used in former times in this district but there is no one there now. Spades are used in the planting of potatoes also, but all the spades are bought in shops.
