To stop him, poor fellow, in vain they tried;
To none of their questions he even replied;
But still kept on laughing as though he had died.

They followed him on ' till it was quite a bore;
So he entered a church with an open door;
But soon he created a sad uproar;
And began to laugh twice as loud as before;
