  1. During the year that Lord Bandon was ruling in the locality of Dreenlomane, a pot of silver was found in Dreenlomane when men were turf-cutting in a bog which is now a dry field. The finder, who was Mr. MacCarthy, sold it to Lord Bandon for five pounds, as he was led to believe that the silver was of inferior quality. Lord Bandon afterwards sold it for a large sum.
