    the the horse was usually stabled inside the door. Although sufficient space was available outside, the cattle and horse were confined to the kitchen for there was great danger of they being stolen.
    An old man in Dreenlomane tells that a robber named "Griarha" used steal horse and cattle on his raid for it was believed that gold was kept in the houses and when he could not find the gold he stole the cattle and for that reason the animals were kept in the kitchen. The fowl were also kept in a box in a corner of the kitchen
