    a vision, the consolation and peace of mind that is strongly contrasted with the hopelessness and despair that filled his heart when he left home.
    Some of them will, probably, take the trail through Gloundave and climb the mountain-side for the joy of looking out on the wide landscape and distant so beautifully described in that chapter by the author. Diarmuid O'Laoghaire, a relative of an T-athair Peadar, a fluent speaker and facile writer of Irish, will be there to act as guide to those who may care to make the journey every year on the date of the pilgrimage.
    Canon O'Leary wrote in the language of the people as it was spoken in Munster. It was also the language of the poets of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and of the oral literature that survived amongst the old Irish speakers. At one time it was contended that the people's
