The word Kilgobnet means the Church of St. Abby.She travelled on to Ballyvourney and it was there she saw the nine white deer, and she started to build her church, but a woman who was going for water, it is supposed saw her, and she did not finish it.She is the patron saint of Ballyvourney and of Muskerry, and of all Munster. She had a convent there, and it is there she was buried. She has two feast days every year, February 11th and Whit-Sunday.
