  1. James Gillman landlord of Lisnabrinna and parts of Kildee; Clounties (Dunmanway) and Coolnaconnarthy, resided at Oakmount House. He was born in 1785 and died in 1860 and was either of Dutch or German origin. He had two children, James Herbert Gillman and Amelia Davis Gillman.
    Old Gillman was a country magistrate and a member of Dunmanway Board of Guardians during the Famine years. His tyranny and hard-heartedness were clearly displayed in the following incident During the Famine the Dunmanway Hospital was over-crowded with the famished dying, and the daily deathroll was considerable Gillman visited the Hospital each morning and on being informed of the death roll by Bryan the wardsman he would warmly exclaim "Brave Bryan "Brave Bryan" His workmen's wages
