- The names of our cows are Rose, Ballineen, Strawberry, Barrett, and Starry. Rose got that name because she is red in colour. Ballineen was so called as she was bought at Ballineen. Strawberry is red and white in colour. Barrett was bought from a man named William Barrett, and Starry has a star in her forehead. Some people say "How", and others say "Hi bo", to the cows when driving them. There are two sticks for each cow's head in the stall, one of them is stationary, and the other one is movable. The cow's head is put in between the sticks, and one of them is pulled in, then it is locked with an iron. Sometimes cows are tied with a rope which is attached to a stick and tied around the cow's horns.
