  1. This cure was taken down from Patrick Coffey, aged 76, of Ashbrook, Strokestown who heard it from his mother.
    This is what he said to me - "Well my mother told me that my third eldest brother took a scald on his neck an' the child was bad and screaming and crying with pain for a whole day an' a night but howsomever the next day a travelling man came the way and asked what was amiss with the child
