  2. A man named John Beirne known as Sean Mor Éadach who lived at Rathallen between Elphin and Boyle was famed for his strength. He was a man of medium height but as broad as two men. An Englishman used come to the market of Frenchpark to buy wool. He was very strong and he used to take two half hundred weights and put a chain through them and sling them over the beam of the scales that stood about nine feet from the ground. There was no man going to the Frenchpark market able
