  1. The fairs are held in Boyle on the fair green once a month.
If a man sells his cattle at the fair he has to pay as toll, three pence each for small cattle and four pence each for big cattle. If he does not sell he has not to pay anything. In Croghan, Mr. McWilliam collects the money as the fair green belongs to him. Mr. Laing collects it in Boyle at the bottom of the fair green.
When a man sells his cattle to another man he has to give back 2/6 or 5? for luck out of the money he receives for his cattle.
When a horse is sold the halter goes with the horse.
When a jobber has a great many cattle he cuts a piece of hair off their hips to know which are his.
