  1. When I was young my mammy used to make woolen balls for us, out of bits of spare wool. She got two round pieces of card-board and put them together and cut a round hole in the centre. Next she threaded a darning needle with a piece of wool and worked round the hole until it was filled up. Then she cut round the edge and tied a string between the two pieces of card-board. It was a nice soft ball when it was finished.
    Sometimes girls make daisy-chains out of daisies and they put them around their necks
