  1. The local landlord was Captain McTernan, who lived at Heapstown near Boyle. He was looked upon as a bad landlord. There was a man named Tugman, who lived in Derrynadoey. This man was evicted, because he was not able to pay his rent. Tugman then lived in Ballyfarnon for some years, but after some time emigrated to England.
    Lyonstown was divided by the landlord. The farms used to be divided between the members of the family, when they got married.
