It is supposed by the local people that it is forbidden to bring water from rivers or lakes or from big ponds on Whit Sunday. It used to be called by the local people of long ago 'Fishing Sunday', and when this day would be coming near, the old people used to tell their children not to go near the river on that day. - Nearly all the people of this district gather May flowers on May Day Eve, and then they scatter them at all the doors of their dwelling houses, and also at the doors of their out-houses.
