    Burns
    1. Clap down a fresh cow-dung on the burn, this prevents blistering.
    2. Stewed bark of elm,
    3. Apply buttermilk with bread-soda in it
    4. Apply soot from the chimney.
    5. The "shawl" [caul?] of sheep - the thin film of such put on a burn is an excellent cure.
    6. Hog's lard.
    7. Clap on a good plaster of fresh pig-dung.
    8. Dip in paraffin
    9. Dip in urine.
    Cure for Burns - Wm Henry Drennan's recipe:
    Req. 2d [2 pence worth] sheep's kidney suet (pre-war price)
    2d beeswax
    Yolk of 2 eggs
    Render the suet, beat yolks well into the suet, add the beeswax and beat thoroughly until quite smooth and easily spread.
    Corns
    1. Put on bit of fat bacon at night.
    2. Paraffin oil
    3. Washing soda damped and applied
    4. Scoop a little hole in a bit of turnip, put over corn and leave on all night.
