  1. In former years Marchmallace when boiled down, the liquid of it was used to release the pain of swollen gums and tooth ache. The cure for a sting of a nettle was the juice of a dockleaf. The milk from the flower of the dandelion was used for warts, while the leaf cured sourness in the stomach.
    Poltices were made from linseed meal and bran, or from loaf bread. They are still made, and are said to cure swollen ankles, boils, and inflimations. The cure for a cut was to search for a cobweb, and put it over the cut, it
