    When the milk is boiled she washes her hands and gathers the butter, with two little butter spades and puts it into a butter-cul. Then she washes and salts it. When she has it salted she shapes it into pound rolls and two pound rolls. She keeps seven pounds at home and she sells the rest which varies to ten pounds in the summer and eight pounds in the winter.

  2. Our churn is about three feet high. It has straight sides. It is about a year old.
    The churning is done by a dash. My mother usually churns. It is not hard to churn after a separator. It only takes her a ten minutes or a quarter of an hour. If anyone happens to come in while she is churning
