  2. In the year 1882 there were a number of families living in Ballymullen on the De Vesci Terrace. A man by the name of Griffith came down and valued the land. This commissioner told the people not to pay a penny more than what he valued it at. Lord De Vesci refused to take less so a number of families were evicted. Two of those went to America and died there. The other families were given wooden huts, and never got back their house
