    its old name was Dunduff. (The Fortress of a man named Duff.) How it got to be called Dunduff is not known but it is certain that some people perhaps thinking that there was no difference between Dun and Tun called it the latter. Duff was the chief of a great Irish family and it is said that he had fortresses through-out Ireland and it is very likely that he once had a fortress there from which the townland got its name.
