- There are many travellers going around this area. Some of them have carts and others walk. They sleep in old sheds and sometimes in the ditches. They go from house to house begging. Some of them sell little articles. Cashes come around for the fair of Athy and Castledermot. The Cashes are very low type of people. They are horse dealers.
