  1. This was a bar of iron about 2 1/2 feet high with three claw feet. At the top of hte rod was a socket for one candle and had an arm which moved up and down the rod or stem. In this arm was another rocket. So the candle-stick had two sockets. There was also the arm joined the stem a pair of jaws used for snuffing the candle.
