  1. It is not lucky to give anything away out of the house.
    May-flowers are strewn on the threshold to prevent fairies from entering. This custom is dying out here.
    On May morning each family tries to be the first to take water out of their own spring-well. If another person gets the first drop from the well the "luck" will be taken away.
    People rose at 4 a.m. or earlier to get water on this morning, to keep the "luck."
