    She proved to them. His two companions were looked for all around, and got and tried for the murder of this man.
    It was the law in those days to have the murderers executed as near the place as possible. The "Gibbet Hill" was the most suitable place for them to be hanged. On a tree in the moonlight their dead bodies could be seen for miles around, because it was such a high hill. That is how it derived its name as the "Gibbet Hill".
