  1. A witch woman
There was once a witch woman who was living in the towland of Closdaw, about two miles from Newbliss. Her name was Ann Walliss. She could take milk from cows a mile away, and could take butter of churns and have it on her own churn.
The hounds often viewed her for fields as a hare, taking flesh of her heels, and the blood could be tracked to the place where she was raised. Once time she went to visit her daughter Mrs Grahams.
