A good cure for a pain in the stomach was to take a drink of hot milk, with a grain of pepper added. Another way to cure the pain, was to lay a hot plate on the stomach. - 3.
Sore Eyes
For sore eyes potato water rubbed to the eyes as hot as one could bear was supposed to cure them.Bald Head
The only cure for a bald head was boiled leather mixed with grease.Burns
A piece of cloth with grease rubbed on it was a cure for burns.Chilblains
