    Dog Bite
    When a person got a bite from a dog, what the old people said would cure it, was to get a hair from the same dog and tie it around the cut.

    Sore throat
    The cure for a sore throat is to put a woolly stocking around the neck, when going to bed.
    Stings
    If you get a sting of a wasp or a bee, vinegar will take away the pain.
    Burns
    If a person receives a burn, a leaf called a "sheep's ear", chopped up, and mixed with "hog's lard", will cure it.

  3. Many toys were made by the children in the country long ago, because they very seldom went into the towns, and toys were not manafactured to such an extent as they are now.
