    Sick Stomach
    A good cure for a pain in the stomach was to take a drink of hot milk, with a grain of pepper added. Another way to cure the pain, was to lay a hot plate on the stomach.

    Sore Eyes
    For sore eyes potato water rubbed to the eyes as hot as one could bear was supposed to cure them.
    Bald Head
    The only cure for a bald head was boiled leather mixed with grease.
    Burns
    A piece of cloth with grease rubbed on it was a cure for burns.
    Chilblains
    To walk out in the dew or the snow in one's bare
