  1. One day when the soldiers were in pursuit of the Holy Family, they took refuge in a cave by the wayside, and when they were inside a spider came down and made a thread across the door-way. When the soldiers came they saw the thread and they said, if the Holy Family had gone in there, there would be no thread there so they went away. That is why a spider is lucky.
