  1. In the boundary fence between the towns lands Knockbrack and Coolnaleen a sum of money is hidden. The treasure is hidden on the land, now the property of Michael Fitzgerald Fahee.
The money was placed under a sgeach by ''Freyne the Robber". Before his death he stated on a piece of paper that the money was hidden under a certain sgeach which could be seen from Brandon Hill. After his death, this paper was found and the finders went to Brandon Hill. The sgeach could then be seen by them.
They travelled to Knockbrack and on arrival they could see no sgeach in the field where they thought it should be. The district in which the gold is hidden is known as Ráth h-eagla. It is thought that Freyne hid it in the Rath and the fairies are now guarding it.
