    Another custom in this district is match-making. When a man is going match-making he generally brings another man with him and a bottle of whiskey in his pocket. If he comes to an agreement with the people of the house they drink the bottle of whiskey and if not they bring the whiskey home again. Also a sum of money is settled on the bride before she gets married called dowry. In former years stocks or goods were given as dowry and also the bride's feather bed was given but that ancient custom has died out
