  1. We sow two acres of potatoes each year. We sow them in drills. First the ground is ploughed. Then it is harrowed and ploughed again. Then it is harrowed again. Then the drills are drawn up with a drill plough.
    The farm-yard manure is put between the drills on the dikes and the slits are left on it. h Then artifical manure is put on top of the slits.
    Then the drill is cut in two halves with a drill-plough to cover the slits and manure. Wooden ploughs were used long ago. they had iron socs, iron coulters, iron mould boards, iron sole plates and an iron rake.
